Virat Kohli scores 31st ODI century for India, second player to hit ton in 200th ODI.
Virat Kohli was put down on 29. That was the only chance he gave to New Zealand in the innings before he went on to score his 31st ODI century. The Indian captain also became only the second player in ODI history to score a century in his 200th One-Day International.

Ponting had scored 30 ODI tons in his career while Sachin retired after scoring 49. South Africa batsman AB de Villiers also has a century in his 200th ODI.
Kohli, who came to the crease afte the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan, shared crucial stands with Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni. He hit eight fours and a six in his innings.
Kohli (121) got to a double milestone today by scoring a hundred on his 200th ODI, a feat only achieved by Ab de Villiers of South Africa. Kohli has 17 hundreds to his name in the five-day format.
Reacting to Kohli’s century, VVS Laxman showered praise on the batsman and wondered what he would achieve in upcoming time. “No 31 for Virat Kohli.What unbelievable consistency. Only 200 matches thus far, sky is the limit for what he will achieve in next 9-10 yrs (sic)” VVS said.
