India’s Young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was brought in as standby for injured opener Shikhar Dhawan in India’s World Cup team but he won’t get access to the dressing room till this senior opener is not completely ruled out of the tournament.
That means he won’t be considered as a replacement till the Indian team takes a call on Dhawan’s injury.
Risabh Pant, who was not selected for Indian team despite his terrific performance in many matches will join the team ahead of India and Pakistan clash on Sunday.
But according to latest reports, Indian selectors divided into two groups on Pant replacement. Some of the selectors do not want to replace Dhawan with Pant as they think that Dhawan might play in upcoming matches. On the other side, some selectors want to announce Pant as a replacement for Dhawan without wasting time.
