Rafael Nadal, 17-time grand slam champion is eyeing for a return here at Monte- Carlos Rolex masters 1000. Last month Nadal was pulled out of a semi-final clash against Roger Federer duo to his returning knee injury.
Nadal had a fantastic record in this tournament. He is a11- time champion and held a 46 match winning streak in Monte-Carlo from 2005-2013 – most by any player in open era.
He was also pulled out of ATP Miami open due to the same injury which keeps on haunting Nadal from a very long time. So he skipped Miami open in order to prepare for the rest of the clay season.
“I feel that I’m playing well. I had some good days of practice here, playing some good sets,” Nadal said ahead of the start of the claycourt season.
“That helps me. I love this event. I always feel comfortable here. I’m enjoying being here in Monte Carlo in the event that always brings me to the best feelings possible.” Nadal said.
Rafael said “It’s hopefully going to be my first event of the year that I can finish. And I’m excited about that.”
