After struggling to break into the NSW squad, Erin Burns made the tough decision to chase her dreams with the newly formed Tasmania Roar in 2009. In hindsight, this decision proved to be fortunate as she went onto forge a glittering career with the Roar. After winning the state’s Player of the Year Award in 2009-10, Burns continued to assert herself as one of the game’s most dangerous allrounders. Soon enough, she caught the eye of national selectors, finding her place in the Australia A Women's 2012 Tour of NZ and Australia A Women's squad in 2012-13. Burns then signed with the ACT Meteors for the 2017-18 WNCL season, before coming full circle in 2019-20 when she signed her first senior contract with her native NSW. Her WODI & WT20I debuts came in September 2019 against West Indies. The allrounder has also enjoyed an illustrious WBBL career, having been a part of the Hobart Hurricanes for the first three editions before moving onto the Sydney Sixers in the 2018/19 season.
A highlight for Erin was the 90 against Victoria that she made at the Blundstone Arena in 2012-13
