Mignon du Preez

du Preez was only 12 when she first flaunted her skills on a cricket field. She smashed 258 in a 40-over game at a strike rate of over 200, including 25 fours and 16 sixes. It did not take too long for her to make her international debut, marking it in an ODI against Pakistan in early 2007. Her T20I debut came against New Zealand later that year. The highest ever partnership recorded by South Africa in WODI cricket came in August 2007 - a colossal 224* stand which featured Logtenber and du Preez. This was special also because it was only du Preez's sixth ODI appearance. du Preez took over as captain in 2011 and served for five years, during which time she led her side to their first ever Women's World T20 semi-final in 2014. She is also the current leading run-scorer for South Africa in ODI cricket. du Preez has also been a vital part of the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, having scored over 1000 runs for the club in four seasons.

On February 2016, du Preez became the first ever South African woman to score 1,000 runs in T20Is.
